Crispy Fried Green Tomatoes

Ingredients:


4 large green tomatoes -- sliced 1/4 inch thick

1/4 cup flour

1 large egg -- beaten

1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce -- or to taste

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 dash black pepper

1 cup fine bread crumbs

2 Cup oil for frying
 

Preparation / Directions:


Coat tomato slices with flour, then dip in egg (seasoned with salt, pepper, and hot sauce) and finally in bread crumbs. Using hedium heat, brown on both sides in a skillet with 1/2" of oil. Serve hot, with extra hot sauce, if desired.
