Western Hot Sauce

Ingredients:


1/2 cup catsup

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup onion -- finely chopped

3 tablespoons red wine vinegar

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 teaspoons brown sugar

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons mustard seed -- whole

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon oregano -- dried, crushed

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon cloves ground

1 piece bay leaf

1 clove garlic minced
 

Preparation / Directions:


In saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring once or twice. Discard bay leaf. Use to baste hamburgers or ribs last 15 minutes of grilling.
