Pretzels

Ingredients:


1 1/2 teaspoons Yeast

3 tablespoons Water

3 cups Bread flour

1 teaspoon Coarse kosher or sea salt

2 tablespoons Lt. brown sugar

2 quarts Water

1 cup Water

1/2 cup Baking soda
 

Preparation / Directions:


Set machine on dough setting. At end of first kneading cycle, press clear/stop. Let dough rest 5 min. Fill a 3 quart saucepan with 2 quarts of water and 1/2 cup baking soda. Bring to gentle boil. Preheat oven to 475. Sprinkle two 13x9x1 baking pans with coarse salt. Shape the dough. Place two pretzels at a time in the boiling water for approx. 15 seconds or until lightly golden. Remove and place four pretzels on each pan. Bake for 8 - 10 min.
