Hot Water Cornbread

Ingredients:


1 cup cornmeal

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon white sugar

1 tablespoon shortening

3/4 cup boiling water
 

Preparation / Directions:


mix ingredients together until smooth. In a large skillet pour in 1/4 cup of oil or bacon fat. when grease is ready, using a large serving spoon, spoon in one scoop at a time and as they start to brown, turn them over until they are done. Great for Greens.
