Tin Can Raisin Bread

Ingredients:


6 pieces empty 15 oz cans thoroughly washed and labels removed

1 pound raisins

2 cup boiling water

2 Teaspoons baking soda

3 tablespoons shortening

2 large eggs

2 cup sugar

2 cup flour

1 teaspoon salt

4 Teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 cup nuts chopped , if desired
 

Preparation / Directions:


Mix together the first 4 ingredients and let set overnight. Mix together the remaining ingredients plus the raisin mixture. Oil the 6 cans and fill with the dough, slightly over half full. Bake at 350 °F for 60 minutes. Serve hot or after cooled.
