Cake Doughnuts

Ingredients:


1 tablespoons granulated sugar

4 tablespoons sugar replacement

1/3 cup buttermilk

1 large egg -- beaten well

1 cup flour

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon nutmeg -- to taste

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons oil for deep-fat frying
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine sugars, buttermilk, and egg; beat well. Add remaining ingredients, except oil. Beat just until blended. Heat oil to 375F. Drop dough from doughnut dropper into hot fat. Fry until golden brown, turning often. Drain.
