Preparation / Directions:
1. Cream together 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter until light and fluffy.
2. Add 2 eggs, melted chocolate and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; blend thoroughly.
3. Sift together flour and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. (Batter will be fairly stiff.)
4. For cheese mixture, combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, cottage cheese, cornstarch, remaining egg and vanilla; beat until thoroughly blended. (Mixture will be thin.)
5. Fit pastry tube with tip with large opening and fill with brownie batter; press half of batter into bottoms of 12 greased muffin tins.
6. Spoon cheese mixture over batter; top with remaining batter. (Or spread half of brownie batter in bottom of greased 8-inch square pan, pour cheese mixture over batter and drop remaining batter by tablespoons over cheese mixture.)
7. Bake in preheated 375 F. oven 20 to 25 minutes. (Bake pan brownies at 375 F. 45 minutes.) Cut in squares while warm.
