Hershey's Brownies

Ingredients:


1/2 cup butter or margarine

2 1/2 pieces hersheys unsweetened baking -- 2 1/2oz broken chocolate into pieces

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped nuts

---peanut butter frosting -- optional

1 cup confectioners sugar

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 tablespoons milk
 

Preparation / Directions:


Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease square pan, 8 x 8 x 2 inches. In small saucepan over low heat melt butter. Remove from heat; add baking chocolate pieces, stirring until melted. Set aside to cool. In small mixer bowl beat eggs and vanilla slightly; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add cooled chocolate mixture. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; blend into chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan. Frost with Peanut Butter Frosting, if desired. Cut into squares. About 16 brownies. PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING: In small mixer bowl combine all ingredients; beat until smooth and desired consistency. About 3/4 cup frosting.
