Decorating Butter Cream

Ingredients:


1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup butter or margarine -- butter is better

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla -- not imitation

5 cups confectioners sugar -- 1-1/3 lbs

3 tablespoons milk
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Cream butter and shortening with mixer for 3 minutes on high speed. 2. Add vanilla. 3. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. 4. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. 5. Mix on high speed for 5 minutes. For snow white icing, use all vegetable shortening.
