Preparation / Directions:Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla; beat thorougly. Melt chocolate in hot water over low heat; cool slightly. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in dry ingredients. Pour into baking pan. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over batter and bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Sift powdered sugar over cake while warm.
