Moosehead Gingerbread

Ingredients:


2 1/2 cups flour -- sifted

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 1/2 teaspoons powdered ginger

1/2 teaspoon powdered cloves

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup molasses

1 tablespoon instant coffee

1 cup boiling water
 

Preparation / Directions:


Butter 9" square pan. Sift together flour, baking soda, slt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, mustard and pepper. Set aside. Cream butter. Add sugar and beat for 2 min. Beat in eggs 1 at a time. Add molasses;beat till smooth. Dissolev coffee in boiling water and add, alternately, with flour mixture. Beat just till smooth. Mixture will eb very thin. Pour into prepared pan and abke at 375 for 35 min. or till done.
