CROCK POT STEAK SOUP |

Ingredients:
3 cups water |
2 small onions -- chopped |
3 stalks celery -- chopped |
2 medium carrots -- sliced |
16 ounces tomatoes |
1 teaspoon pepper |
1 tablespoon monosodium glutamate |
10 ounces frozen mixed vegetables |
1 pound coarsely ground beef or stew meat, browned |
2 tablespoons beef base or granules -- (2 to 4) |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup flour |

Preparation / Directions:
Put all ingredients except butter and flour in crock pot. Cover and cook
on low 8 to 10 hours. One hour before serving, turn to high.
Make a roux of 1 stick melted butter and 1/2 cup flour. Stir until
smooth.
Pour into crock pot and stir until thickened. Cook soup on high until
thickened.
