Ingredients:


500 Grams flour -- (1 lb.)

4 large eggs

200 Grams sugar -- (7 oz)

150 Grams butter -- (5 oz) softened at room temp.

16 Grams baking powder -- (1 tbsp)

8 ounces little glass Alkermes

4 ounces glass milk

1 medium rind of 1 lemon -- grated

50 Grams icing sugar -- (7 oz)

50 Grams little coloured sugar
 

Preparation / Directions:


Grease and flour a ring-shaped pan. Preheat oven at 190°C. (375 F) In a bowl, beat 3 whole eggs + 1 egg yolk with sugar till foamy. Add butter, Alkermes, milk and grated lemon rind. Sift flour and baking powder and add to mixture. Bake for 40/50 minutes. Let cool completely. Beat egg white with icing sugar and frost cake. Sprinkle with coloured sugar. Note: you can also prepare frosting in this way. Whisk egg white with sugar, frost cake and put in oven at 120° C (248 F) till frosting gets completely white.
