Baked Apple

Ingredients:


4 medium cooking apples

4 slices white bread

4 teaspoons granulated sugar

4 teaspoons butter
 

Preparation / Directions:


Peel and core apples. Cut slices of bread into circles about 2 1/2-inches in diameter. Place bread in buttered baking dish. Place an apple on each piece of bread. In well in center of each apple, place 1 teaspoon sugar. Add 1 teaspoon butter on each apple. Bake at 375F for 30 minutes. Serve warm. Recipe Source: THE ART OF FRENCH COOKING by Fernande Garvin
