Preparation / Directions:Peel potatoes and cut into slices approximately 1/4-inch thick. In a bowl, combine potatoes, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, cream, egg, and grated cheese. Turn mixture into a buttered baking dish.
Dot with butter. Bake at 400F for 1 hour, or until potatoes are tender and top is browned. Serve hot.
