Slow Cooker Lamb Shanks With Split Peas |

Ingredients:
1 cup dried split green peas |
3 pounds lamb shanks |
1 large onion -- chopped |
2 medium carrots -- peeled and sliced |
2 stalks celery -- sliced |
2 1/2 cups beef broth |
1 teaspoon salt and pepper |

Preparation / Directions:
Completely soften peas by your favorite method. Brown lamb shanks under broiler to remove fat; drain well. Mix all ingredients except shanks in Crock-Pot; stir well. Add shanks, pushing down into liquid. Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours.
