Butterscotch Sauce

Ingredients:


2/3 cup Sugar

1/3 cup Margarine or butter

1/3 cup Buttermilk

2 teaspoons Light corn syrup

1/4 teaspoon Baking soda

1 tablespoon Rum or

1 teaspoon Rum flavoring -- if desired
 

Preparation / Directions:


Heat all ingredients except rum to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes, stirring frequently; remove from heat. Stir in rum; cool completely. Refrigerate any remaining sauce.
