Cherry Crisp

Ingredients:


5 cups cherries frozen unsweetened pitted tart red -- thawed

3 tablespoons sugar

1/2 cup regular rolled oats

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 dash nutmeg

1/4 cup butter

2 tablespoons crumbled white crackers

1/4 cup chopped coconut

1 quart vanilla ice cream
 

Preparation / Directions:


Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In saucepan, mix cherries and sugar together. Cook on medium high until hot. Pour into baking dish. For topping: In a mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour and nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in crumbled crackers and coconut. Sprinkle topping over cherries. Place dish in oven and bake until top is golden brown. Serve warm over ice cream. Approximately 30 minutes.
