Peanut-Pear Dessert

Ingredients:


1 1/4 cups vanilla wafer crumbs

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 dash salt

1/4 cup peanut butter

2 tablespoons butter or margarine -- melted

17 3/4 ounces canned pear halves -- drained

1 quart whipped cream or ice cream -- (optional)
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Combine crumbs, sugar, cinnamon, salt, peanut butter and butter; stir until blended. 2. Place half of mixture in bottom of buttered baking dish; top with pear halves, cut side up. 3. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs; bake in preheated 350 F. oven 25 to 30 minutes, or until crumb mixture is crisp and brown. 4. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
