Pear Bread Pudding - Complete Dessert

Ingredients:


1 can bartlett pears -- (16 oz.)

5 cups bread cubes -- (1/2-inch)

1/2 cup raisins

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 large eggs -- lightly beaten

1/4 cup butter -- melted

1 1/2 cups milk -- scalded
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Drain and dice pears, reserving 1/4 cup pear syrup. 2. Combine pears, bread cubes and raisins in 1 1/2-quart baking dish. 3. Add sugar, salt and cinnamon to beaten eggs. 4. Combine 1/4 cup melted butter and scalded milk; gradually stir into egg mixture. 5. Add reserved pear syrup; pour over bread cube mixture. 6. Set baking dish in pan of hot water; bake in preheated 350 F. oven 1 hour, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold.
