Salsa Balsamella

Ingredients:


1 stick butter unsalted

1 cup all-purpose flour

4 cups hot milk

1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
 

Preparation / Directions:


Melt butter in a 2-quart saucepan until frothing. Remove from heat and stir in flour with a whisk. Cook over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add 1/2 hot milk an whisk until smooth. Add remaining milk and whisk until smooth. Bring to boil, add nutmeg, lower heat and simmer 10 minutes. Can be used hot or cold.
