Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce 1

Ingredients:


2 tablespoons fat or oil

1/4 pound ground beef

1 medium Onion -- finely chopped

1 can tomato sauce -- (8 oz.)

1 cup water

3 tablespoons vinegar

1/4 cup pickle relish

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 dash cayenne
 

Preparation / Directions:


Heat fat in saucepan. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until meat and onions brown, breaking the meat into fine pieces. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer about 30 minutes, uncovered, until sauce is thick. Makes about 1 3/4 cups sauce, enough for about 1 dozen hot dogs and rolls.
