Purple Plum and Ginger Sauce

Ingredients:


17 ounces purple plums canned in syrup

1/2 cup white wine

2 whole cloves

1 stick cinnamon

1 tablespoon sugar

2 teaspoons ginger crystallized -- chopped

1/2 teaspoon lemon rind -- grated
 

Preparation / Directions:


Strain plums; reserve syrup. remove seeds and set aside. Put reserved syrup in saucepan. Add wine, cloves, cinnamon, sugar, ginger and lemon rind. Heat to boil, reduce heat to half and thicken. Remove from heat and cool to room temp. Coarsely chop plums; add to strained sauce.
