Sausage With Cider-Cranberry Glaze

Ingredients:


2 cups apple cider

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar -- packed

1 tablespoon raspberry or cider vinegar

5 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon whole cloves

1 cup cranberries -- fresh or frozen

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

2 links smoked cooked sausage (kielbasa or polish sausage) -- cut diagonally in bite-sized pieces

1 medium sauted onions
 

Preparation / Directions:


In a medium saucepan, stir together cider, sugar, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, cloves and cranberries. When mixture boils, reduce heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Pour into cranberry mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear. Heat sausage and onions together. Place a helping on each plate, top with sauce and serve.
